Dr Angelika Wieck

Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist

Dr Angelika Wieck is Honorary Consultant in Perinatal Psychiatry at the Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. She was Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester, Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry and Perinatal Psychiatry, Consultant for the Northwest Specialist Service for Affective Disorders, the Lead Consultant for the North West Perinatal Psychiatry Service, the Clinical Lead for the Perinatal Mental Health Clinical
Network in Greater Manchester. She was a member of the National Clinical Reference Group for Perinatal Mental Health and the Academic Secretary for the 
Perinatal Faculty of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

 

She was the perinatal psychiatry expert for the Bipolar Valproate Advisory Group at the European
Medicines Agency (2017), the Chair (2016-2022) and current Counselor of the Women's 
Mental Health Section at the European Psychiatric Association, and serves on the Editorial board of the Archives of Women’s Mental Health.

Dr Wieck’s research interests and publications are in reproductive psychopharmacology, psychoneuroendocrinology and perinatal psychiatry. She lectures extensively, internationally and nationally, on reproductive psychopharmacology.
