Perinatal Psychiatry Masterclasses

Testimonials

This was an exceptional course.
I am so grateful I had a place. The content was broad and so relevant to this specific subspecialty. The speakers were compassionate and knowledgeable and excellent role models for us trainees who want to pursue perinatal psychiatry. There were great opportunities for group work. This was so helpful as a trainee and the teaching I have had here I have not had anywhere else. It has fuelled my desire to become a perinatal psychiatrist.
I feel very grateful for this programme , as it helped me broaden my knowledge, gain more confidence in treating women in the perinatal period and offered the opportunity for networking. The sessions were very informative and interactive, the speakers were very knowledgeable and they brought more value to their talks when using their own experiences and cases. Despite all the complexities of this subspeciality, this masterclass made me love perinatal psychiatry even more.
Liz, Lucinda, Maddalena - truly inspirational and impressive leaders in the field, and exceptional teachers. Every aspect and moment of this course was invaluable and masterfully delivered - everything was equally high quality and essential. I would honestly say this is the best course I have attended in my medical career thus far! It was a privilege to learn from you all. Thank you!!!
It was a very comprehensive course. Every aspect was touched upon: historical, current clinical practice, evidence based and biological background. However this did not result simply in a very well crafted academic masterclass. It felt instead as a journey, a very compassionate journey into the lives of mothers and babies.
I think this was a golden experience that I will hold on to for a very long time. I got the chance to listen to experts in the field and many of the talks were thought provoking as well as inspiring. I am grateful for the opportunity.

This has been an excellent training experience, with a wide range of interesting and thought-provoking speakers. I now feel a much better-rounded clinician, with a much greater depth of knowledge of perinatal psychiatry, and of psychiatry in general, despite having worked for a number of years in a general adult consultant post before moving to perinatal. It has been a genuine privilege to take part in the programme.

There was a great balance between knowledge, practice, group work and reflection – it felt like you could learn AND feel supported.

The passion and experience of the presenting team and speakers is palpable and honestly the course has felt like a wonderful opportunity. Every aspect of the course feels so thorough and relevant.

I am leaving with knowledge, confidence and a network – that combination is rare.
This is the best course I have attended so far in training. It was interesting, engaging and has given me lots of knowledge to take forward in my work in perinatal and general psychiatry. I would highly recommend the course to colleagues. The course was really well run, the speakers were excellent and the small group work was excellent. It's confirmed that I really want to pursue a career in perinatal psychiatry and it's a real boost to now have a network of other interested trainees
Excellent week; I feel so fortunate to have attended and been able to improve my
knowledge and have some thinking space. I have improved knowledge of formulation, birth planning, risk assessment and being specific about what information should be written in child protection conference report, prescribing, and specific aspects to note for parent-child interaction - all of which I will now be able to practice
The masterclass has been excellent! It has equipped me with the required confidence I need as a perinatal psychiatrist. The programme has helped answer a lot of questions I had as a new consultant psychiatrist. It has been enlightening, empowering and absolutely brilliant.
A brilliant opportunity to network with peers and receive top class teaching which is up to date and completely relevant to my practice.  So wide ranging, it appeared to encompass all areas of my perinatal practice in some detail.
Superb course, very informative, ran to time, well organized. The right balance of talks,
feedback and small group sessions. Good cover of a range of perinatal topics. Talks well
delivered, excellent that we got to hear from some of the leading experts in the field. Thankyou very much for all your hard work. I have enjoyed and taken so much from this course and strongly recommend this for other trainees.
I think this was a golden experience that I will hold on to for a very long time. I got the chance to listen to experts in the field and many of the talks were thought provoking as well as inspiring. I am grateful for the opportunity.
Excellent quality speakers, highly relevant content, smooth-running programme, very attentive facilitators. One of the best courses I have ever been on. I would 100% recommend this course to others
I now feel like a perinatal psychiatrist… I now feel much more confident to provide the care the women I see deserve and to be a qualified, valuable contributor to the multidisciplinary team
A privilege to be part of this week – inspiring, uplifting and nourishing to learn from experts who are passionate about improving perinatal services.
